Empower Your Metabolic Health with Confidence

At La Rose Clinic, Wegovy injections (semaglutide) are medically approved for safe and effective weight loss. This state-of-the-art solution is suitable for clients seeking sustainable weight management without surgery, with scientifically proven effectiveness.

How Does It Work?

Wegovy is a semaglutide—based injectable drug that mimics the action of the natural hormone GLP-1, which regulates appetite and satiety. It affects the hunger centersin the brain, helping you:

  • Eat less and feel full longer
  • Reduce your total calorie intake
  • Increase weight control and eating habits

It is used once a week under the supervision of a doctor. Wegovy has been clinically proven to help reduce weight by up to 15% of body weight while following a nutrition and activity program.

Who Is It For?

Wegovy injections are recommended for adults who:

  • Are overweight or obese (BMI ≥27 with concomitant conditions, or ≥30)
  • They strive for long-term weight loss under medical supervision
  • Have difficulty controlling their appetite
  • They want a safe, non-invasive alternative to surgical methods

Wegovy® – Frequently Asked Questions

Wegovy is a prescription-only, once-weekly semaglutide injection used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for weight loss and long-term weight management. Approved for adults and youths aged 12+ with obesity, and adults with overweight plus at least one weight-related health condition. It also lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events in adults with obesity and heart disease

Wegovy mimics the GLP‑1 hormone to reduce appetite and slow stomach emptying, helping users feel fuller, eat less, and lose weight

  • Adults (18+) with BMI ≥ 30 (obesity)
  • Adults with BMI ≥ 27 (overweight) plus at least one weight-related health issue (e.g., high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol)
  • Adolescents aged 12+ with obesity

A gradual dose escalation over several months helps reduce gastrointestinal side effects:

  1. 0.25 mg weekly (weeks 1–4)
  2. 0.5 mg (weeks 5–8)
  3. 1.0 mg (weeks 9–12)
  4. 1.7 mg (weeks 13–16)
  5. Maintenance: 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg weekly from week 17 onward

Wegovy is administered as a subcutaneous injection under the skin (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm), once a week, with or without food. Rotate injection sites to minimize skin irritation

  • If more than 48 hours before your next scheduled dose: take the missed one ASAP.
  • If less than 48 hours remain: skip it and resume the regular schedule.
  • Missing more than two doses in a row? Consult your doctor—you might need to restart the escalation schedule

Clinical trials (STEP program) show an average weight loss of ~15% of initial body weight for both adults and adolescents. It has also been proven to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in adults with obesity and cardiovascular disease

Frequent side effects—often mild to moderate and transient—include:

  • Nausea (≈44%)
  • Diarrhea (30%), vomiting (24%), constipation (24%)
  • Abdominal pain (20%), headache (14%), fatigue (11%)

  • Possible aspiration risk during surgery due to slowed gastric emptying—inform your providers if you’re on Wegovy
  • Hypoglycemia risk, especially in those with type 2 diabetes .

Try these tips:

  • Eat bland, low-fat foods (crackers, toast, rice)
  • Choose soups and gelatin
  • Avoid lying down right after eating
  • Eat slowly, stay hydrated, go for fresh air
